On Tuesday 1st March 2011, Rob Joy visited Weston Primary School where he spoke to Saturn Class, a mixed ability group of 10-11 year olds. The school had previously had a visit from a Muslim who talked about their faith, and as the children are currently learning about Christianity, the teacher was keen to have a practising Christian visit their RE lesson who would be prepared to answer the children's questions. Rob shared a brief testimony and then braved a forthright question and answer session which the children particularly enjoyed. Several of them have written letters to Rob, excerpts of which I have included below, and which speak for themselves.
"Everyone in the class really enjoyed your story, it was really moving. I really enjoyed the answers you gave to our questions." Freddy
"We all enjoyed your story, it was very inspirational to some of us. The questions you answered and the way you answered them was excellent." Jack
"Thank you for coming to our school. You explained it in a very fun way. You answered all our questions. They were very well thought answers. We hope you can come in again." Poppy
"I found it very inspirational and enjoyed all your stories. I really enjoyed the way you explained them. We put you on the spot a lot but you did really well." Eve
"Thank you for giving up your time to come in to class. It was really nice of you to tell us about your life and how you got better after all the hard times you had. The whole class was eager to find out more about everything God has done. We were all shocked about how so many things have changed and how God made the stars and the world. Thanks again. Samuel
Thank you so much for giving up your time, Rob, you obviously made a big impression on the children.
